Rathert Stadium

It would be hard to beat a better example of a ball field in our minds, one that speaks to history, and one that gives you a warm and fuzzy feeling like that of the Rathert Stadium Ball Park in Junction City, KS.  Throughout the Midwest, especially in the Sunflower state, Rathert Stadium is given the declaration of the finest baseball stadium in the state of Kansas.  

Built in the late 1930's as part of Franklin D. Roosevelt's "New Deal", the ball stadium comes complete with a circular sheltered wooden seating area behind home plate and the perfect backdrop to soak in a local community ball game with a storied history surrounding you. Once played on by baseball legend Buck O'Neil and home to the local Junction City High School Blue Jay teams and Junction City Brigade, a 5 Time Mid Plains League championship baseball team, Rathert Stadium does not disappoint!  

It's sometimes hard to polish such a pristine baseball field environment like Rathert Stadium but some time ago, GameTime Athletics was asked to come visit and make a few tweaks to enhance the playing field and facility.  It was an absolute honor to be asked to work alongside such a great team, a remarkable community, and tight-knit city.  

As our company approached the project and had our consultations with their team, we began by focusing on a few turf management solutions initially, specialties that we know well.  This included field aeration, fertilization, irrigation and fungi prevention. After laying the framework on the turf side of things, we focused on infield dirt solutions and helped them set up Redfield Infield Conditioners, a solution that provides a dark red look to the field.  

In addition to providing turf and field management services, we've also outfitted the ball stadium as their needs grew over the years, with backstop padding, home plates and new bases as well as backstop netting, athletic field paint, and chalk.
